About BCHS Drama and
Community Theatre

The longest continuously running high school theatre between Jacksonville and Tallahassee

The Baker County High School drama department has one of the most active programs in North Florida.  Located at BCHS, a rural school of 1400, the drama department has been operating continuously for 40 years and has over 200 productions under its belt.

The drama department has performed at the Southeastern Theatre Conference, the Florida Theatre Conference, the Eastern Communication Association Convention, the National Communication Association Convention and numerous college theatre festivals in North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas and Florida.  Each year, they are the only high school in attendance at the prestigious Petit Jean Performance Festival in Arkansas.

Baker County Community Theatre

Since the early 1970s the Baker County Community Theatre has been performing entertaining and thought provoking shows in partnership with BCHS Drama.  From early productions of Lil Abner, The Fantastiks, Guys and Dolls and Oklahoma to more recent shows like the original premier of An Old Time Gospel Jubilee the BCCT continues to be a vital part of entertaining Baker County.
